The Elijah/Elisha cycle of stories is one part of Scripture to which I continue to return for inspiration in science, religion and social concerns. I get these interests from both my parents - my mom as housewife, feminist, lay pastor and my dad as engineer turned into pastor. I have lived in both city and country. There are things I love about both. I've been a cook, roofer, manager, pastor, musician, and more. Currently I work at a motel and am trying to become a writer.

Halloween silliness
I'm always a little appalled when I read reports that Halloween is too scary and we should have nicer costumes or that Halloweeen celebrates witches and is a geway into paganism I'm not sure I can remember how many different costumes I wore, but some of them were blood thirsty and some were not and I think I amny of my friends from childhood turned out just fine.. So the Bishop of somehting or other thinks that costumes are too scary, then let him deal with his own children and skip the irrelevant pronouncements to the world. Just let the parents and guardians make their own decisions and let the children have fun.
