The Elijah/Elisha cycle of stories is one part of Scripture to which I continue to return for inspiration in science, religion and social concerns. I get these interests from both my parents - my mom as housewife, feminist, lay pastor and my dad as engineer turned into pastor. I have lived in both city and country. There are things I love about both. I've been a cook, roofer, manager, pastor, musician, and more. Currently I work at a motel and am trying to become a writer.

Things I don't understand
From 365gay.com comes a report of a gay bashing. What I don't get is why a man would shout derogatory names such as 'faggot' and then sexually assult the same man. If you're against men who have sex with other men, then wouldn't you skip the sexual assault of another man? But then there have been a number of studies that show the most homophobic reactions come not from those men who are heterosexual, but those who are bisexual or homosexual. So beating up someone and getting off on it seems to be what gay-bashing is all about. At least in this instance. If it weren't for the violence against another person I'd call the gay-bashers pitiful. As it is they just need to be stopped. Violence against someone else just isn't right.
