Thoughts on the lectionary for Nov 06, 2006

Hear my prayer. That is a cry that comes again and again in scripture. From the blood of Abel
calling out to God for redress, from Job crying out why did these things happen, from the cry on the cross of ‘My God, my God why have you left me?’ The challenge continues. Does God hear our cry is our question. The answer isn't usually in the curtain of the temple being torn. But more usually in the still small voice after the earthquake, wind and fire.

Psalm 102
[1] Hear my prayer, O LORD;
let my cry come to you.
