Goode again not so good

Rep. Virgil Goode had an editorial in today's (Jan. 2, 2007) USA Today where he defended his letter about the Rep.-elect Ellison being sworn in on the Koran. Again he doesn't get it. Religious freedom is about letting people make their own choice as to religion and swearing on the holy book that represents their faith. For all his seeming punditry of mentioning 'we were attacked by extremists who acted in the name of the Islamic religion' he doesn't get that Christianist and Islamist extremists are the problem, not the religion. It is religious extremism in the name of Christ that bombed a federal building in Oklahoma. It is religious extremism in the name of Christ that has bombed health clinics where abortions may be performed. It is religious extremism and not the religion that's the problem. And Goode just doesn't get it.
