Divorce and sexual orientation

Luke 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery,
and whoever marries a woman divorced from her husband commits
adultery.

I’m still trying to figure out why some people will allow divorce but not same-sex sexual activity or relationships. Scripture clearly has differing opinions on divorce with it being permitted in some places and forbidden in others. But homosexuality? That is a concept from the 18th century. Greek culture tended to regard what we call bisexuality as the norm. The Old Testament has a couple of passages about men lying with men as though the were women, but that’s not what’s happening with a lesbian relationship and gay men don’t want to have sex with a man as with a woman – gay men want to have sex with a man as with a man. And the translations from the Greek are even more problematic than the Hebrew in the Old Testament. Divorce is clearly forbidden and the passages about homosexuality are less clear than some believe. But which do we spend our time on?
