Hiring

One of the things I enjoy most about my job is training. I love helping people learn something new. I love hiring people, training them and helping them move to a position with greater opportunities. That's not happening today.

I hired someone to come in at 7:30am to train for the breakfast/laundry position. Since it is past 9:00 am, they don't have a job. It is frustrating. A call saying, "I've decided not to work here." would have saved me an hour or two of waiting and preparation. But that didn't happen. So I missed out on one of the things I enjoy and wasted an hour or two and will have to start reviewing applications and such again. That's the life of a manager.
