Day of Silence

Some conservative activists, according 365gay.com, are taking their children out of school so that they won't be exposed to the idea that gay people want equal rights and gay men and lesbians (or those perceived as such) are sometimes victims of discrimination. I say more power to them. If their children weren't already aware that there are issues around homophobia and sexual orientation, they certainly will be aware of such after being taken out of school.

The action of taking your children out of school so they won't learn about the day of silence is like cutting off your foot because your toe hurts. It shows the children how important the issue is.
