Good stewards

Liberal theologians have been talking about being good stewards of the earth for years, there's even one branch of liberal theology that is centered on being good ecologists - I'm not coming up with the name, but I remember reading a couple of books on it back in seminary 20+ years ago. Now a more conservative theologian Edward Wilson wrote a book talking about being good stewards - I think the idea starts in both creation stories from Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 - and is being lambasted.
