Needed - a balance
When I was growing up I heard, 'don't air your dirty linen in public.' I was pleased when that rule relaxed as I saw too many cases where that meant don't deal with the problems. But there ought to be a balance between not sharing anything in public and sharing too much. I'm not sure I want to hear what type of underwear your partner will be wearing when you get home. And I'm certain I don't want to hear twenty or thirty minutes of discussion about your marital problems when you're at the next table over in the restaurant. A balance, perhaps, deal with the problems when you're directly with the person and don't let me know that you'll be greeted with someone in a thong when you get home. Please. Pretty please with sugar on top.
