Joe and Margaret - Saturday, October 7, 2000

Saturday, October 7, 2000

Margaret was pleased with the Bible studies this week. First Ruth and now Hannah. They spoke to her needs. She had been wandering in a strange land from the time her mother disappeared until Joe took her in. She wanted children like Hannah. While she had never made a spectacle of herself and been thought drunk – she’d done that drunkenness to much in her life to ever lose control again – she had prayed for children and Joe had said, from the first, that he wanted kids too.

Well, that was enough of thinking. It was time to clean the house. It was time to clean her very own house. And that was such a different feeling than the cleaning and other help she did during the week. It was a joy to help those who needed care while they were ill and old. That she could do so many things pick up the house, change the beds, help them with their personal needs, give their care-givers a break, well, it all made her feel good and worthwhile. It was so clean and pure. But cleaning her very own house that was a pleasure.
